Family Photography

Before We Start: A Few Tips for a Relaxed & Fun Session

1. Leave the stress at home

The best photos happen when everyone is relaxed. Don't worry if your kids are energetic, shy, or a little wild—I promise it's all completely normal!

2. Trust the process

Not every photo will have everyone looking at the camera, and that's okay. Some of the most beautiful images come from genuine moments, cuddles, laughter, and connection.

3. Let the kids be kids

There's no need to constantly ask them to smile or say "cheese." I'll guide them naturally and capture their real personalities.

4. Arrive a few minutes early

Giving yourselves a little extra time helps everyone settle in and start the session feeling calm and relaxed.

5. Bring snacks and water

Especially for little ones! Simple, non-messy snacks can be lifesavers if someone needs a quick break.

6. Focus on each other

During the session, interact with your family. Snuggle, play, laugh, tell jokes, and enjoy being together. Those authentic moments create the best photographs.

7. Don't worry about perfection

Perfectly posed isn't my goal. Real smiles, genuine connection, and the beautiful chaos that makes your family unique are what I'm after.

8. Trust me with the details

I've been photographing families since 2012, and I'll guide you every step of the way. You don't need to know how to pose—that's my job!

Pets

Before We Start: A Few Tips for a Paw-some Pet Session

1. Let your pet be themselves

The best photos happen when your pet feels comfortable and relaxed. Whether they're goofy, energetic, shy, or a total diva, we'll capture the personality you know and love.

2. Exercise beforehand

A short walk or play session before your appointment can help burn off some extra energy and make it easier for your pet to focus.

3. Bring their favorite treats

Treats are a photographer's secret weapon! Bring plenty of small, high-value treats that your pet absolutely loves.

4. Don't worry if they don't sit perfectly

Most pets aren't trained models (although some think they are). Patience and a little creativity go a long way, and we'll work at your pet's pace.

5. Bring favorite toys

A favorite squeaky toy, ball, or comfort item can help grab attention and create genuine expressions.

6. Arrive with a relaxed and with a positive attitude

Pets pick up on our emotions. If you're relaxed and having fun, chances are your furry friend will be too.

7. Keep collars and grooming in mind

If your pet wears a special collar, bandana, or bow tie you'd like included, bring it along. A quick brush before the session can also help them look their best.

8. Trust the process

Some of the best images happen between the poses—when your dog is tilting their head, your cat is curious about a sound, or your pet is simply looking at you with pure love.
